Basics
- Name :: Quia Swanson
- Age :: 24
- Homeplanet:: Earth
- Ethnicitiy, :: 3/4 Human, 1/4 Bajoran
- Sexual Preference :: Straight
- Desired Postition Onboard The Bounty:: Assistant Chief Security Officer
-----
- Character Physical Looks :: Being almost entirely human, Quia frankly lacks the one characteristic that separates humans from Bajorans; ridges on the nose between the eyes. By frankly, I mean that she still has them, but they are barely more than slight bumps. Besides that, she has a quite normal appearance. She stands at about five feet six inches, and slender. The young woman, while muscular, isn't definitely not the strongest person in the world, which occasionally causes issues if she is assigned to a task.
Quia has light brown, almost amber eyes. They are a little sharper than most, but besides that, quite normal. Her hair is dark brown and shoulder-length, more often than not, tied back in some sort of 'pony tail' or braid. Her skin is an olive-tan sheen, coming from both of her parents. Nothing about her is perhaps out of the ordinary, save a curved scar on her jawline.
-----
- Character Personality :: Despite events in her life, Quia has managed to remain rather up-beat and cheerful, though not to the point of annoying optimism. She is not rather talkative, and prefers to listen instead of interject when one is talking; even considering this, she doesn't like to be alone, though she isn't fond of huge crowds, either. She is easy to smile, but just as quick to anger. Also, she is very independent, though will take in other's opinions, especially in a serious manner.
She does have some bad traits, though; as mentioned, she is very quick to anger, and she also has a one-track mind when set on a task. She has, at least twice since becoming a member of the Bounty, has worked herself sick form not sleeping or eating until she either finished the project, or passed out. Another issue that has made some aspects of life in space a small problem for Quia is her fear of the dark. She has learned to mostly 'swallow' it, but still hates for it to be anywhere near pitch black (Space itself doesn't count in this part; she considers stars to be her dubbed 'lights'). It should be noted that Quia has rarely shared this information with anyone.

- Character History :: Quia was born to Thomas and Haili Swanson in Toronto, Canada. She was the eldest daughter of what was to be three - she had two younger twin brothers, Fredin and Omar. Her father was completely Human, having never left Earth his entire life, and her mother was half Human, half Bajoran, and a Starfleet officer. She grew up in a rather normal environment, going to school, and all of that. Her immediate family was occasionally visited by her grandmother and first cousin, who both lived on Bajor; to her surprise, her cousin, before getting used to what he called 'Human habits', called her Swanson Quia, as is tradition on Bajor.
When the girl was the correct age/requirements, she applied to the Starfleet Academy. She floated from one major to the other, never sure of what she wanted to do. She eventually stumbled across Security and Medical operations, and she knew instantly that they were the 'right ones' for her to take. It was only a week after she had started her studies officially that she was informed of a trajedy; her mother, a shuttle technician on the USS Leed, had gone missing during one of the several battles it had recently been a part of.
The news of her mother's disapearence hit the family hard. Her grandmother, and her Bajoran side of the family blamed Thomas for letting her go back into Starfleet, which her father's side flared up at instantly. Both sides tried to convince Quia to leave the Academy and either return home or go to Bajor, but she refused both, and, to show her resentment for her family's actions, moved in with her best friend for the rest of her school days.
At the age of twenty-two, the young woman graduated from the Academy, and, one month later, became a member of the crew on the USS Bounty, where she, while performing her duties, is ever on the look out for any information concerning her mother.

- Sample Roleplay ::
For the sake of stating the obvious, Space was dark.
Quia Swanson sighed as she gazed out of one of the many 'windows', the stars seemingly staring back. If there was one thing she disliked about space travel, it was the never ending night. But that was merely a downside to it; all the up sides practically drowned that one issue. Besides, there were many more frightening beings, places, et cetera this far out in space that were much more frightening than simply the dark. But her foolish fears of a state of light were not important right now.
The young woman yanked her gaze away from the stars, and returned her eyes to her job at hand. One of the crewmen had accidentally dropped a piece of equipment when trying to get it to her, and it had, as was obvious, broke. She was no technician, but she had fixed simple breaks on others just like this... but it was almost as though the crewman has dropped it over and over again, causing in to smash internally, not just a few of the appendages. Quia sighed again, this time in frustration. How in the world was she supposed to fix something that was so bent up that it work better as -
With a crash, something hit the ship, sending everything careening sideways. Quia was flung across the room, where the mutilated machine had broken in half up on impact on the wall. The young woman struggled to her feet. "What the - " She shouted, but the ship was hit by another impact. She threw herself across the room to her console, trying to read the erratic information clearing across the page.
