Introduction
Welcome, new member! I am delighted to see you have come aboard the USS GRINDELWALD, and if you haven't yet (but are reading this to see if you should), I hope this gives you a good idea what our site is all about
On this site, you come aboard the USS BOUNTY and live out the life of a Star Fleet Officer. Fight alongside your fellows against the Borg, Romulans, and the most feared species of the galaxy.
That's the short explanation of our site. The remaining sections will give you a complete guide to how to be successful in our site!

2) Registering
This is a very simple process, so it shouldn't take you much time. If you've already registered, read through this and make sure you've done everything, then go onto step three, Editing Your Profile.
Step One :: Click on the 'Register' button under the ship's banner.
Step Two :: Fill out the required information. Please make sure to type your password correctly the second time it asks or you'll just have to go back and retype both passwords again, and the same with your email address. The security code was just implemented and type EXACTLY as you see - I know sometimes it's hard to tell when the letters/numbers are close together or not fully there, but try your best.
Step Three :: Go to your email account. Find the Account Verification letter and click on the activation link.

3) Editing Your Profile
This is the fun part, because this is where it becomes personal and more customized!
Step One :: To edit your profile, click on the 'Profile' button under the ship's banner, then click 'Modify Profile'.
Step Two :: You can change your password or email if you like, but I doubt you will, so go onto Display Name. Your display name will be your character's name.
Step Three :: What gender are you? If you don't want people to know, don't put either. For location, if you do not want to disclose where you live, simply put a random country or don't put anything.
Step Four :: Website Name & Url - this is a good place to advertise your own site or someone else's. If you don`t have either, you may leave it blank.
Step Five :: An avatar. You can find them anywhere on the web. If you have one on your computer, simply make an account to an Image Hosting site (like photobucket.com) and upload your photo there, then put the url here. Usually, the size is 100x100 for most avatars. Personal text can be anything you wish - usually, I put something connected to the avatar.
Step Six :: Signature! Here you can post anything, like a picture of you, your character, pictures of useful things, text from your favorite book, a quote or anything else you would like.
Step Eight :: Instant Messengers - if you don't have one of them listed, I suggest you get at least one, because they are a great way to communicate with other members. To get a messenger go to these links, they are FREE:
AIM: www.aim.com ICQ: www.icq.com (less popular) YIM: www.yahoo.com MSN: www.hotmail.com
Step Nine :: What do you want to see on the forum, and what do you want others to see? You decide here. I suggest Opt-In on mass emails, because they contain important information and events you don't want to miss out on.
Step Ten: : Final one! This is time zone according to where you live.
If you are experiencing any difficulties with editing your profile, or you feel that someone else is editing it, please PM a staff member or post a message in the 'Help Desk' board.

4) Creating Your Character
Here on Grindelwald, everyone has the opportunity to create their own character, whether it be based off of an existing person, or completely original. For example, our Captain is based of Captain Picard although there are some major differences.
Step One :: Visit the Character Application section. Your can find this thread on the main page. Then you will see the Application Information sub-board. Click on Application Information.
Step Two :: Click on the Character Application. Copy the application ( the words in the box). Then go back to the main page, click on Character Application, and then on Application Submission.
Step Three :: Click on ‘New Thread’ and paste the application into the main field. Then type the requested information. Remember to include as much information as possible into these. The more, the better!
Step Four :: Type your character’s name in the ‘Subject’ field. After that, scroll down to the bottom and click ‘Post Message’. Shortly after you post your application, a staff member will be around to either approve or deny your application.
